The Indo-Pak Home Secretary-level talks here tomorrow (May 31,2006) would focus on terrorism and build on progress made to finalise an MOU to enhance cooperation to contain drug trafficking between the two countries, Home Secretary V K Duggal said today (May 30, 2006).
Some progress has been made in the previous rounds of talks on the issue of terrorism and tomorrow's talks would centre on the scourge and related issues. India would take up
its concerns with Pakistani officials in this regard, Duggal told reporters here upon his arrival.
"The two countries are also working out an MOU to enhance cooperation in the field of drug trafficking," he said.
The Home-Secretary level talks are being held under the aegis of the third round of Composite Dialogue Process and would provide an opportunity for officials of both countries to have a frank discussions on terrorism, drug trafficking and
release of prisoners.
Duggal said progress can be achieved if the two sides approached the dialogue with positive intentions, adding efforts were on by both sides to build friendly relations
between the two countries.
He said the vision of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was to create conducive atmosphere through various confidence building measures to resolve all contentious issues between the two countries.
Keeping this in mind India has made efforts to launch different bus services connecting the two sides of Kashmir where truck services would be resumed from next month to
promote trade, he said, adding enhanced contacts in different fields, including trade would help the two countries to address larger issues.
