K Natwar Singh appears before Pathak Authority
Wednesday, May 31 2006 12:12 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Former External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh today (May 31, 2006) appeared before the Pathak Authority investigating the Volcker report on Iraq's oil-for-food scam.

Singh, who has been named in the report as a non-contractual beneficiary of the UN programme in Iraq, was accompanied by his son Jagat Singh who was quizzed yesterday by the Authority.

The veteran Congress leader faces allegations of introducing Hamdan Exports Director Andaleeb Sehgal, a friend of Jagat, to officials of the Iraqi Oil Ministry during a party delegation visit to that country in 2001.
