Quota issue: Medicos begin debate after SC order
Wednesday, May 31 2006 13:53 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: With the Supreme Court today (May 31, 2006) directing the striking medicos to resume work forthwith, the agitating doctors and students started deliberations to explore various possibilities.

Asking their counterparts from other institutes to gather at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, the members of the 'Youth for Equality', which is spearheading the agitation, held discussions in small groups, saying, "Once our colleagues come back from the Supreme Court, we need to chalk-out future course of action".

Joined by the NDMC doctors and resident doctors from Safdarjung hospital, the striking medicos claimed the police have closed the main gates of the AIIMS to stop other protestors from entering.
