Nepalese Prime Minister G P Koirala will pay an official visit here from June 6, more than a month after assuming charge following restoration of democracy there.
During the four-day visit, the two countries will discuss the entire gamut of issues. Among these will be India'seconomic assistance to Nepal for the reconstruction of the
country which is facing financial crisis.
India has already offered economic aid to Nepal and Kathmandu is working out the areas in which it would be required immediately.
84-year-old Koirala will undertake the visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, External Affairs Ministry said here today.
He will be accompanied by a delegation comprising ministers and business representatives.
Koirala, who spearheaded the unprecedented pro-democracy movement in Nepal for over a year, was sworn in as Prime Minister as the head of a seven-party alliance government on April 30.
The visit assumes significance as Nepal is preparing to hold elections to the Constituent Assembly. The issue is expected to figure in the talks Koirala will have with Singh.
Koirala is also expected to discuss with the Prime Minister the issue of first-ever talks he is likely to hold with Maoist leader Prachanda.
