Arjun Singh meets UAE counterpart in Abu Dhabi

Dubai: Boosting cooperation in the fields of education and technology transfer featured in the discussions Human Resources Development Minister Arjun Singh had with his UAE counterpart Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi.

The meeting between Singh and Al Nahayan, the Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which took place last evening, was also attended by UAE Minister of Education Hanif Hassan, Indian officials said.

Singh, who arrived in the UAE yesterday (June 4, 2006) would also meet Indian expatriates in Abu Dhabi.

The minister would visit BITS Pilani in Knowledge Village, the Indian High School, Dubai where he would chair a meeting of principals of UAE schools who are following the Central Board of Secondary Education syllabus, besides addressing a meeting organised by the Indian Business and Professional Council.
