CII pledges support for 2010 Commonwealth Games

New Delhi: Confederation of Indian Industry yesterday (June 7,2006) assured complete collaboration in the preparations for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi and also the 2008 Youth Commonwealth Games.

The CII's pledge came when its President R Seshasayee hosted a luncheon meeting in the honour of CWG Federation Michael Fennell, Vice President Tunku Imran and CEO Mike Hooper here.

Also present at the meeting was Suresh Kalmadi, President of the Indian Olympic Association and Chairman of the 2010 CWG Organising Committee, a CII release said.

Kalmadi pointed out that the visiting mission's first meeting was being held with the CII, which highlighted the top priority sports accorded to business and industry.

Fennell said business was a powerul tool and its engagement with sports events ensured a valuable legacy both in terms of leaving behind a physical infrastructure and enabligh peoples' development.
