New Delhi:
Taking cognisance of the alleged detention of nine persons in connection with the Rahul Mahajan drug abuse case, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) today (June 8, 2006) sought a report from Delhi Police in the matter.
The NHRC move comes on the basis of a petition submitted to it by the relatives of the nine persons, who include the driver, domestic help and two security guards employed at late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan's 7, Safdarjung Road residence, a spokesman for the Commission said.
"Delhi Police has been asked to submit the report today itself," the spokesman said.
