Success of India-US civilan nuke deal vital: Sen

Washington: The success of the landmark Indo-US civilian nuclear deal is 'vital as it symbolises a new chapter in bilateral relationship, India's Ambassador to the United States Ronen Sen has said.

In his address at the leadership Summit of the United States India Business Council here last night, he said there has been a dramatic transformaton of bilateral relationship in the context of the visits of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and US President George W Bush.

"A highly significant initiative was the civilian nuclear agreement as the historic accord would lead to the betterment of the lives of the people of India," Sen said.

"The success of the initiative is vital for in essence it symbolises a new chapter in bilateral relationship," the Ambassador said.
