Monday, June 26 2006 12:54 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Jaisalmer: Terming as 'insufficient' the relief provided by the BJP Government to drought victims in Rajasthan, Congress President Sonia Gandhi today( June 26, 2006) told villagers near here that she would urge the Union Government to include this drought-hit district under a Central scheme.

"I will take up the matter with the Central Government for Rashtriya Grameen Rozgar Guarantee Yojana," she told a group of workers involved in drought relief work at Damodara, 30 kms from here.

"We are given insufficient food grains and low wages," said two women, Tulsi and Rekha.

Gandhi drove straight to Moolsagar and Damodara villages after landing at the airstrip here.
