CCEA approves Rs 200 cr for agriculture edu.

New Delhi: The Government has approved additional funding of Rs 200 crore for strengthening and developing agricultural education in the remaining period of tenth five year plan.

"The Rs 200 crore funding is in addition to Rs 750 crore, which has been already been approved for the purpose," Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said.

The funds will be used for manpower need assessment and workshops to review and assess need for new courses and networking facilities and equipments.

It will also be used for renovation, remodelling, modernisation of classrooms, laboratories and experimental farms, hostel and boarding facilities and other works related to modernisation and strengthening of teaching and learning.

The CCEA also gave 'in-principle' approval to Indian Council of Agriculture Research for regulation of higher agricultural education in the country," Dasmunsi said.
