Delhi HC issues notice to Government, AIIMS
Wednesday, July 5 2006 18:20 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court today (July 5, 2006) issued notices to the Union Government and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on a petition seeking dissolution of the institute's Governing Council which is now headed by Union Health Minister A Ramadoss.

Justice Anil Kumar granted four weeks to the respondent to file the replies and posted the matter for further hearing to August 24.

The petition filed by a group of doctors challenged the nomination of Ramadoss and Health Secretary to the Governing Council on the ground that the same were illegal and violated section 4 (g) of the AIIMS Act.
