New Delhi:
State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has bagged a major contract from Tata Power Company for the supply of equipment and services for its 250-MW Thermal Power Station (TPS) in Trombay.
Won through competitive bidding, this is BHEL's first order where the boiler would be designed to suit firing of imported coal, an official statement said Monday.
Not disclosing the value of the contract, BHEL stated it would involve design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the main plant package for Unit-8 of Trombay TPS in Maharashtra.
BHEL had earlier supplied equipment and provided services for 500 MW Units 5 & 6 and the combined cycle plant at Unit-7 at the same power plant.
The company also recently won its single-largest contract from an independent power producer (IPP) for a thermal power project comprising four units of 250 MW each in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh.
