Tanvir Ansari, arrested by Anti- Terrorist Squad of Mumbai police in connection with July 11 serial blasts in trains, was today remanded to police custody till August four by a local court.
Ansari, a doctor by profession, was produced before an additional chief metropolitan magistrate A M Garde amid tight security.
Producing the accused before the court, ATS officials said Ansari was an alleged Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) operative and had undergone training in Pakistan in handling arms and ammunitions and making bombs and explosives.
ATS sought his custody saying they had to find out the exact role of the accused in blasts.
Ansari is the fourth accused to be arrested in connection with the blast.
The others are Kamal Ahmed Ansari, Khaleed Aziz Sheikh and Mumtaz Ahmed Choudhary.
