New Delhi:
Iran yesterday (July 24, 2006) said that it will continue talks with India till 'the final result' is achieved in implementing the over 7-billion dollar Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project.
Iranian Embassy here issued a press release to this effect quoting a spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry in Tehran in view of Indian media reports on the project.
The spokesman acknowledged that the Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki had told an Indian TV channel that there were 'specific difficulties' with regard to implementation of a separate contract to sell liquefied natural gas (LNG) to India.
However, Mottaki had not questioned the determination of the two countries regarding the LNG deal.
