New Delhi:
Amidst reports that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh may not meet him, former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh, who is in the eye of a storm over the 'mole' issue, today said he had sought an appointment with him two days back and felt no need to give a reminder.
"Two days back, I had sought an appointment with the Prime Minister and I don't think I need to remind him," Singh told sources.
When asked about reports that the Prime Minister has declined to meet him, Singh, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, said he was not aware of any such thing.
"I don't see why he does not want to meet me. I have a functional responsibility in the House and in the political system," he said.
Singh revelation about a 'mole' in the PMO during the P V Narasimha Rao regime has sparked off a political storm with the BJP leader coming under attack for not intimating the authorities about such information.
The former minister had in a press conference here said that he would hand over all information to the Prime Minister but had declined to name the 'mole' who, was a civil servant in a high position who has since retired and was living outside the country.
