J&K: Six wounded in a grenade blast in Sopore

Srinagar: Six people were wounded today (July 27, 2006) in a grenade explosion near a heavily guarded police station in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore town.

Suspected separatist guerrillas tossed a grenade towards the police station in Sopore in Baramulla district, 54 km from here. All the six injured in the explosion were civilians.

Senior police officers visited the spot as security forces searched the area around the explosion site.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the explosion.
