Police arrest Tanya's colleague in murder case Thursday, July 27 2006 15:57 Hrs (IST) - World Time -  Bangalore:
Police today (July 27, 2006) arrested Gururaj Kishore in connection with the murder of his colleague at a call centre here Tanya Banerjee.
The 27-year-old Kishore has confessed to the crime, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Bipin Gopalakrishna told sources.
Gopalakrishna said Kishore was very much in love with Tanya and wanted to marry her.
"But he (Kishore) had an argument with her over the way she conducted herself", he said.
"Post-mortem report suggested that she was not raped," Gopalakrishna said.
The body of Tanya with stab wounds was found near Sakleshpur in Hassan district on the Bangalore-Mangalore national highway yesterday.
Kishore was taken into custody for questioning earlier today and after he confessed to the crime, he was arrested.
25-year old Tanya was found brutally murdered with 25 injuries, mainly stab wounds.
Tanya, hailing from West Bengal, was working with Aviva-24/7 in Bangalore where she and Kishore had joined last month before serving another company.
