Grenade attack foiled in Doda, one militant caught

Jammu: Security forces today (August 1, 2006) foiled a grenade attack on them in Doda district and caught one militant during the attempt, officials said.

One Abdul Karim was trying to hurl a grenade on security forces at Manawar village in Doda early this morning and was caught with a Chinese grenade in possession, they said.

He was handed over to police for further investigation, they said adding that he was tasked by Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commander Abu Irfan to attack the forces.
