Friday, August 4 2006 17:56 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Finance Minister P Chidambaram today (Aug 4,2006) asserted that the R S Pathak Inquiry Authority report on the Iraqi oil-for-food scam was not leaked by the Government.

"I can say with utmost confidence that there has been no leak from the government side. The only copy or the copies are at present with the Prime Minister", he told reporters.

The Finance Minister said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had informed him last evening about receiving the Pathak Committee report.

"The only copy or the copies are with the Prime Minister. There are no other copies of the reports (in circulation). I have not seen the report", Chidambaram said.

He dismissed allegations levelled by former external affairs minister Natwar Singh's son, Jagat Singh, that the Enforcement Directorate was acting at Chidambaram's behest, saying, "I don't interfere with the Enforcement Directorate".
