Saturday, August 5 2006 12:32 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Patna: A suspected SIMI activist has been detained from here for questioning in connection with the July 11 Mumbai serial blasts, police said today (Aug 5, 2006).

Ziauddin Ansari, who allegedly had links with the banned SIMI, was taken into custody from Phulwarisharif locality late last night, Senior Superintendent of Police Kundan Krishnan said.

His detention followed an advisory from Anti-Terrorist Squad of Mumbai Police, which suspected Ziauddin's involvement in the blasts in Mumbai suburban trains that claimed 201 lives.

"The man is being interrogated at Phulwarisharif police station," Krishnan said.
