Decision on Natwar Singh soon: A.K. Antony Monday, August 7 2006 17:24 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Thiruvananthapuram:
The Congress today (Aug 7, 2006) said a final decision would be taken soon on K. Natwar Singh, who moved a privilege motion against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to protest the leak to the media of the inquiry report that examined his role in Iraq's oil-for-food scam.
"You just wait and see. You should understand that as chairman of the disciplinary committee of All India Congress Committee, I have limitations and responsibilities. So please wait for some more time before the party decides on this," A.K. Antony told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.
Despite a volley of questions on whether Natwar Singh committed an act of indiscipline by serving the privilege motion notice, Antony refused to comment.
Former external affairs minister Natwar Singh Sunday served the notice to protest against the leak of the Justice R.S. Pathak Inquiry Authority that indicted him and his son Jagat Singh.
The notice was presented to the secretariat of the Rajya Sabha, of which both he and the prime minister are members.
