De-sealing in Delhi: SC stays Govt notification

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today (Aug 10, 2006) stayed the May 20 notification of the Government allowing de-sealing of the commercial establishments illegally operating in the residential areas of the national capital.

A Bench headed by Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal said the properties, which were sealed under the direction of the court, will have to be sealed again.

There were 5006 properties, which were sealed on the direction of the court.

The court said the premises, which were de-sealed pursuant to the notice of May 20, will have to be re-sealed with effect from September 16.
