BJP rules out apology on A B Vajpayee's letter Friday, August 11 2006 10:06 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
In a hardening of stand, the BJP yesterday (Aug 10, 2006) night rejected the UPA demand for an apology over former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's stinging letter to Speaker Somnath Chatarjee and instead asked the ruling alliance to apologise for stalling the House over Vajpayee's remarks.
"There is no question of an apology from the NDA on Vajpayee's letter. Instead, we demand the entire UPA and Left supporters issue an apology for what they have done in the House today," BJP Parliamentary party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra told sources.
Earlier in the day, he said opposition members would meet tomorrow before the House assembles to plan a counter-attack on the ruling UPA.
