NDA-UPA standoff over Vajpayee's letter continues
Friday, August 11 2006 12:08 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: The stalemate between the Opposition and the ruling UPA appeared set to continue as the NDA today (Aug 11,2006) ruled out an apology or withdrawal of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's letter to Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, saying it stands by every word of what the veteran BJP leader has written.

"There is no question of withdrawal or an apology. We stand by every word of what he (Vajpayee) has written," BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra told reporters here after an NDA meeting.
