Pak claims cross-border infiltration 'impossible'
Friday, August 18 2006 10:37 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Islamabad: Rejecting India's assertions on cross-border terrorism, Pakistan has claimed that infiltration of militants was impossible after several protective measures taken along the Line of Control by New Delhi.

Infiltration was impossible after India had fenced the Line of Control, planted landmines along it and took several other protective measures to stop terrorists from entering its territories, Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz told reporters here yesterday.

His comments came a day after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said during his Independence Day address that Pakistan should honour its commitments to not to let its soil to be used for terrorism against India.

The Pakistani Premier said the world was a witness to Pakistan's role in the US-led war or terror, state-run APP news agency reported.

He also called upon India to resolve the Kashmir issue to ensure peace in the region.

About the opposition's plan to bring a no-confidence motion against him, Aziz said he was ready to face it, adding that the opposition would get nothing out of it.

"The opposition lacks a vision and is wasting its time on non-issues," he said.
