The two Pakistani terrorists arrested from Hingalganj in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district revealed some clues during interrogation and Mumbai Police may seek their transit remand, police sources said here yesterday (Aug 18, 2006)night.
Mumbai police may seek the transit remand of Md Zuber and Md Sohail, belonging to the Jaish-e-Mohammed, currently in the custody of the CID, to ascertain if they had any link with the deadly July 11 blasts in suburban trains in the western metropolis, sources said adding the CID would allow them to take them to Mumbai if the court gives permission.
A police team from Mumbai interrogated the duo yesterday and also today along with the CID sleuths. The two gave some clues during the interrogation, they said.
Zuber and Sohail both residents of Karachi, were arrested by the BSF as they were crossing the Ichhamati river by boat on Saturday.
The CID took over the case from the district police on Wednesday.
A few e-mail IDs have also been identified which are being scanned by the CID, sources said.
The CID is also trying to find out whether the duo has any contact person in Kolkata or in West Bengal.
