'ULFA may have set up Bhutan camps once again'
Friday, September 1 2006 14:50 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Kokrajhar (Assam): The ULFA may have once again set up camps in the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan after the Royal Bhutan Army demolished them in operation 'All Clear' in 2003.

Assam Director-General of Police D N Dutta told sources here yesterday (Aug 31, 2006) said that intelligence reports spoke about the existence of ULFA camps in Bhutan, but it was not confirmed as their location was not yet known.

The Bhutan government has, however, denied the existence of any ULFA camp on its soil after the operation 'All Clear' which lasted for over a month.

"All police stations and superintendents of police in the districts have been alerted against any militant attack and the Unified Command Structure was keeping a close watch on the situation, the DGP, who was here to review the law and order situation with senior police, army and para-military forces," he said.
