The results of a narco analysis test, conducted on suspected activist of banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), Shakeel Ahmad Warsi, here may help Mumbai police, who are probing the July 11 serial train bomb blasts' case, police said here today (Sept 2, 2006).
Declining to reveal the findings of the narco test, city Commissioner of Police, S P S Yadav told a Meet the Press Programme that it may be beneficial for cops probing the
terror activities in Mumbai.
Warsi along with two other suspected SIMI members were arrested by city police for their alleged involvement in the July 11 train blasts and unlawfil activities on August 8 under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
Yadav also said the police were in the process of framing stringent laws to curb cyber crimes.
"A proposal is awaiting approval of state government in which a user of a cyber cafe will have to reveal his identity and address. The cafe owners will maintain a record of user,
timing, terminal used which can later help the police to detect any wrong doings," he said.
On terrorists' bid to attack RSS headquarters on June 1, Yadav said police had intelligence inputs about possible attack and had taken adequate measures which resulted in foiling the terror plan.
