Kamlesh Singh raises banner of revolt in Jharkhand Tuesday, September 5 2006 12:10 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Jamshedpur:
The BJP-led coalition in Jharkhand today (Sept 5, 2006) got into more problems with one more minister raising the banner of revolt against Chief Minister Arjun Munda after he was allegedly detained by the police.
Jharkhand Water Resources, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Kamlesh Singh claimed here this morning the police misbehaved with him last night while he was on his way to Kolkata to catch a flight to Delhi to meet with three dissident ministers - Madhu Koda, Enos Ekka and Harinarain Rai - now camping in the capital.
"I just wanted to meet them (the three ministers) to bring about a solution but the way I was treated by the police when I was on my way to Kolkata by road to catch a flight to Delhi, I will review my continuation with the Munda government," he told reporters at the Nirmal Guest House.
All the three ministers are reportedly in touch with UPA leaders.
The 18-month old NDA government in Jharkhand has a wafer-thin majority and would face a crisis in the event of the three ministers - all Independents - withdrawing support.
The police, however, denied Singh's allegation. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajeev Ranjan said that Singh came to the guest house on his own.
Singh has left for Ranchi by road where he would announce his final decision.
