Rajnath Singh blames Jharkhand crisis on Congress Tuesday, September 5 2006 18:07 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
BJP chief Rajnath Singh today (Sept 5,2006) blamed the crisis in his party's government in Jharkhand on the Congress, but insisted it will be saved from falling.
Singh, who spoke more about what he called a Congress attempt to destabilise the Arjun Munda government, also claimed he had received no complaints from dissident
legislators against the state Chief Minister.
"I believe that the government will be saved," he said in brief remarks when asked about the future of the BJP-led Jharkhand administration in the face of apparent attempts by
some state ministers to topple.
The BJP chief, however, spoke at length against the Congress, whom he accused of attempting to destabilise the State Government.
"The Congress is playing with democratic values. They did the same thing in the past when it tried by not allowing the NDA to form government in the state despite majority," he said.
In his comments, Jharkhand BJP leader Sarayu Rai claimed that there was no threat to the state government. He insisted that the state government had full knowledge of the location of three of its ministers who appeared to be switching sides to the UPA.
"There will be a decision in a day or two and it will be in our favours," he said.
