Govt approves package to clear salary dues of PSE Thursday, September 7 2006 16:07 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

In a bid to mitigate the hardships of employees in 15 ailing Public Sector Enterprises, Government today (Sept 7,2006) approved a Rs 124.37 crore package to clear their six-month salary arrears.
The clearance for release of the dues, for the period between January 1, 2006, to June 30, 2006, was given by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, an official spokesperson told reporters after the CCEA meeting.
The CPSEs are Andrew Yule and Company, Kolkata, Bharat Heavy Plates and Vessels Limited, Vishakhapatnam, Burn Standard Company, Kolkata, Bharat Wagon Engineering, Patna, Hindustan Cables, Kolkata, HMT (Machinery Tools), Bangalore, HMT (Watches), Bangalore, Hindustan Photo Films, Ooty, Instrumentation Limited, Kota, Nepa Limited, Nepanagar (Madhya Pradesh), Triveni Structurals (Allahabad), HMT (Chinar Watches), HMT (Holding), National Instruments Limited and Tungabhadra Steel Products Limited.
The spokesperson said the release of the outstanding dues would motivate the employees for better output and prepare them to achieve the goal of revival for the companies.
