UPA responsible for terror strike: A B Vajpayee
Saturday, September 9 2006 14:37 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Dehradun: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today (Sept 9,2006) held the entire UPA responsible for the terror strike in Malegaon in Maharashtra that claimed 38 lives and injured 189.

"I believe that the entire government is responsible for this," he told reporters when asked whether he would seek the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh or Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil in the wake of yesterday's serial explosions in Malegaon.

He said the BJP had always warned the government to be tough against terrorism.

In his speech yesterday, the former Prime Minister had remarked it would be futile to talk about dialogue with Pakistan until New Delhi took steps to impose checks on Islamabad.

"There is no meaning whether there are talks with Pakistan or not as long preparations are not made to place checks on Pakistan. There is a need for blunt-talking with Pakistan," he had said.
