Mohammed Shoaib Ghansar found guilty in blast case

Mumbai: A special TADA court today (Sept 14,2006)found Mohammed Shoaib Ghansar guilty in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.

Accused number nine in the case, Ghansar was one of the 28 persons charged with planting bombs at 13 places in the city, and had been charged under the TADA act.

The CBI had contended that Shoaib, who was an associate of absconding main accused Tiger Memon, drove a RDX-laden scooter to the crowded Zaveri Bazaar in South Mumbai, resulting in the death of 17 persons.

Ghansar could face a possible death penalty and has been charged with criminal conspiracy.
