BJP raises accusations against Lalu Prasad Yadav Friday, September 15 2006 16:23 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Ranchi:
The BJP today accused RJD supreme Lalu Prasad of playing the lead role in scripting the fall of the NDA in Jharkhand and sought to know his motive behind the act, a day after Arjun Munda resigned as chief minister and Independent mla Madhu Koda staked claim to form Government.
It is in my mind for some time now as to what interest Lalu Prasad had got in the entire developments. Is it because of the pending fodder scam cases against him in Ranchi.
BJP's national vice president and in-charge of Jharkhand Sumitra Mahajan alleged.
As a constructive opposition party, the BJP will not allow such motives to materialise, Mahajan told a news conference here without going into details of her allegations.
Terming Prasad a staunch opposer for a separate Jharkand Mahajan said the BJP had been at the fore front in the creation of the state six years ago.
Shifting her attack to the Congress, Mahajan asked the Congress whether it would mete out a similar fate to the chief ministerial aspirant Madhu Koda which it had allegedly done to former prime ministers Chandrasekhar, Choudhury Charan Singh and H D Devegowda.
"The suspicion comes out because the Congress, despite being a national party, is out to support an independent mla to head the UPA government. It remains to be seen how long the Congres will let the government last," Mahajan claimed.
She also charged the UPA with luring away three of the NDA's former supportersEnos Ekka, Madhu Koda and Harinarain Rai--to break the coalition.
