'Nitish Government will meet fate of Munda Govt'
Saturday, September 16 2006 12:31 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Patna: RJD president Lalu Prasad yesterday (Sept 15, 2006) criticised the Nitish Kumar government for failing to fulfil its pre-election promises and predicted its downfall like the Arjun Munda Government in Jharkhand.

Addressing the elected RJD-supported members of the three-tier panchyati raj system here, Prasad asserted that he had played no role in bringing down the Arjun Munda Government.

''It collapased on its own due to internal bickerings. If the Nitish Kumar Government in Bihar falls what can I do? The NDA government in Bihar will meet the same fate as Munda's,'' HE

Prasad stressed the need to strengthen and revitalise the organisation at the grass root level to expose the 'misdeeds and hollow announcements of the NDA Government'.

Terming the Nitish Kumar government as 'pro-rich', he gave a call to launch a 'fill the jail campaign' against the misdeeds of the NDA Government like giving Prime Government land to 'unscrupulous elements' like Prakash Jha and others at throaway prices in and around Patna.

Referring to the oft-quoted announcement of Kumar that 2.36 lakh teachers would be recruited, Prasad said, ''It is a ploy to cheat the unemployed youths as the government had no resources to pay their remuneration on time and hence the teachers are being appointed on contract basis''.
