A Bench headed by Chief Justice of India Y K Sabharwal directed the National Human Rights Commission and the government to consider suggestions given in a PIL filed by former DGP Prakash Singh, to transfer cases of terrorism, drug trafficking, money laundering to the CBI within the next four months.

A police complaint authority should be established in which complaints against police officials could be filed, the Bench observed.

Besides a police establishment board should be estalished to fix the minimum tenure and selection procedures for police officials, it added.
