From idlis and dosas to chicken tikka and panner dishes, chief ministers of 14 Congress-ruled states will get to relish a wide variety of Indian cuisine as they discuss the affairs of the country here.
The best of chefs are here to cater to the needs of Congress leaders, including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and party president Sonia Gandhi, during a two-day convention of the chief ministers that began here Saturday.
A well-known chef from Bangalore is here to prepare south Indian delicacies including dosas and idlis.
According to party sources, a master chef specializing in continental dishes has arrived from New Delhi to prepare food Sonia Gandhi likes most.
There is also a noted cook from nearby Haldwani to take care of Mughlai dishes including chicken tikka, seekh kabab and korma. An expert Kashmiri chef has come from Udhampur to prepare Kashmiri paneer dishes and aaloo dum.
Uttaranchal Chief Minister Narain Dutt Tiwari is leaving no stone unturned to please the powers that be. A local cook will serve traditional dishes from the Kumoan hills.
A giant makeshift kitchen has been created at the Nainital Club compound for the two-day event.
The club too has witnessed a transformation. With a new wooden floor, new sofas, carpets, dinner sets, plush décor and the like, the place wears a renovated look after years of neglect.
