Saddam Hussein trial adjourned until October 9

Baghdad: The genocide trial of Saddam Hussein was on today (Sept 26, 2006) adjourned by the judge for nearly two weeks to give defendants time to contact their absent lawyers or hire new ones.

The stormy session was marked by a revolt of the defendants, who were eventually all ejected from the dock by the judge while the trial proceeded quickly, hearing seven witnesses.
