European nanotechnology firms keen on tie-ups Thursday, September 28 2006 11:14 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Besancon (France):
Many firms taking part in the International Microtechnology and Nanotechnology Exhibition, the largest fair of its kind in Europe, are keen on exploring opportunities in India in collaboration with local companies.
The exhibition, popularly known as Micronora, began here yesterday (Sept 27, 2006) with over 200 companies from across the globe showcasing their products in fields as diverse as automobiles, textiles, electronics and cosmetics.
Many industries are interested in exploring opportunities in India, Micronora president Michel Goetzsaid.
"Nanotechnology is and will be present in practically all fields, ranging from medicine to electronics, biology, cosmetics and textiles. What we do here is to give the right
platform for buyers and sellers to explore new avenues," he told sources.
Acxys Technologies, a company dealing with plasma machines and based at Saint Martin Le Vinox in France, is one European company which will soon arrive in India to do
business.
"India is a great country, a great business destination with a huge market. We will be in India by November 2006," Acxys director Mathieu Thomachot said.
Representatives of over a dozen Indian companies are participating in the exhibition.
"Though we are not showcasing anything from India, we are trying to explore new avenues with European companies where we can forge partnerships for mutual benefits," said F Shroff, an executive of Nelco, a Tata group company.
