South Africa: Manmohan Singh meets Nelson Mandela

Johannesburg: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met Nelson Mandela, one of the world's most respected statesmen who used Mahatma Gandhi's non-violent methods to end South Africa's apartheid regime, here yesterday (Oct 2, 2006)night.

Singh was accompanied by his wife Gursharan Kaur, Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma and National Security Advisor M K Narayanan.

The meeting took place at the office of the 88-year- old Mandela.
