Arms and ammunition recovered from 3 places in J&K

Jammu :

Security Forces have recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from three different places in Rajouri, Poonch and Udhampur districts of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here today (Oct 25, 2006).


During a search operation in Surankote area of Poonch district, the forces recovered one Chinese pistol alongwith its two magazines and 15 rounds, 99 AK rounds, four AK magazines, 39 pika rounds, one UBGL grenade, two IEDs, one pika ammunition box and one RPG booster, they said.

In a separate incident, recoveries were made from Kanchi in Jhangar area of Rajouri, the sources said adding the recoveries made from a bag hidden behind a boulder included one Chinese pistol, 12 UBGL grenades and 120 rounds of AK ammunition.

"Security forces also found five detonators wrapped in a newspaper on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway

at Patnitop in Udhampur district," the sources said.
