Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today (Nov 15, 2006) alleged that the state Governor T V Rajeshwar had recommended the dismissal of the Samajwadi Party government and hinted he favoured early Assembly elections.

"I have reports that the Governor has recommended dismissal of the State Government," Yadav claimed while speaking to newsmen here.

Asked whether he had specific information in this regard, he said he came to know about the development from media reports and his own sources.

"There have been media reports to this effect and the Governor has not contested the same," the Chief Minister said adding that dismissal of a state government was not easy.

Yadav also ruled out the possibility of recommendation for dissolution of the Vidhan Sabha, saying there was no point doing so as the Assembly elections were barely a few months away.
