Opp BJP raises Soren issue again in Rajya Sabha Thursday, November 30, 2006 07:23 [IST]
New Delhi : The Opposition BJP today again tried to raise the Shibu Soren issue in the Rajya Sabha but was disallowed by the Chairman.
As soon as the House met for the day and Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat called the name of S S Ahluwalia to ask the listed question in his name, the BJP member sought to know the response of Government on Opposition's demand for an explanation from the Prime Minister on the issue.
The Chairman disallowed raising of the issue saying he would now allow Question Hour to be disrupted.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was in the House when Ahluwalia, with support from party colleague Sushma Swaraj, tried to raise the issue.
Shekhawat said nothing would go on record.
Rajya Sabha was repeatedly adjourned yesterday on the Soren isse. |
