BJP wins Chimur assembly by-polls in Maharashtra Thursday, December 07, 2006 05:11 [IST]
Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Ramesh Gajbe today
(Dec 7, 2006) won the Chimur assembly by-election in Maharashtra
by trouncing the Congress' Vijay Vadettiwar by 40,256 votes.
Vadettiwar was a Shiv Sena legislator from the constituency
who joined the Congress. The Shiv Sena and BJP were both keen to contest from
the constituency, but the former finally gave way. Ramesh Gajbe is a former
minister. |
