Katara case: HC notice to UP on Vikas' bail plea Thursday, December 07, 2006 05:42 [IST]
New Delhi: The
Delhi High Court today issued notice to Uttar Pradesh on the bail application
filed by Vikas Yadav, a prime accused in Nitish Katara murder case.
Issuing the notice, Justice A K Sikri asked the UP Government to file reply by
December 18.
Vikas, son of former MP D P Yadav, approached the Delhi High Court seeking bail
with a ground that his sister Bharati Yadav, a key witness in the case,
completed her testimony in the trial court last week.
During her deposition, Bharati had given a clean chit to him by saying that she
had no intimate relation with Katara, therefore he has no role behind the
murder, Vikas said in the bail application.
In February 2002, Katara was allegedly killed by Vikas and his cousin, Vishal
as they were against Bharati's intimacy with Katara. |
