Afzal files curative petition in Supreme Court Wednesday, December 13, 2006 04:22 [IST]

New Delhi: Mohammad
Afzal, sentenced to death in the 2001 Parliament attack case, has moved the
Supreme Court seeking review of the judgement saying that he did not get fair trial.
In his curative petition, Afzal contended that Article 21 (Right to Life) of
the Constitution is inviolable. The petition was filed through senior lawyer
Kamini Jaiswal.
The curative petition is the last option available in the Court.
Earlier, the Court had dismissed his review petition against the judgement of
August 4, 2005, confirming the death sentence awarded to him by the trial court
and the Delhi High Court.
