New York, Hollywood actors Jenifer Lopez and Jim Carrey have dismissed reports that their newfound friendship with Tom Cruise is proof of their interest in Scientology.

Lopez was apparently introduced to the faith by actress Leah Remini and Carrey is taking basic courses. The media went into speculation mode when Lopez and Carrey were invited for Cruise and Holmes wedding along with their partners because they have never been spotted all together.

More recently, Lopez and her husband singer Marc Antony have been spotted with Cruise and Holmes no less than three times together, reports imdb.com.

Their representatives, however, vehemently deny Scientology is not their unifying interest.

Lopez's spokesperson says: "I have no knowledge of this, but I probably wouldn't have a comment on it if I did."

Carrey's publicist adds: "He is not taking classes."
