VHP welcomes Rajnath's statement on RM issue Tuesday, December 26, 2006 10:38 [IST]
Ahmdabad: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today welcomed the
statement of BJP president Rajnath Singh on construction of Ram Mandir at
Ayodhya.
"I congratulate Rajnath Singh for his statement that if the BJP returns to
power, it will bring a legislation to build Ram Temple," VHP international
general secretary Pravin Togadia said addressing a Hindu Sammelan at
Gandhinagar as part of centenary celebrations of RSS leader Guru Madhavrao Gowalkar.
Togadia also cautioned Rajnath Singh about the "secular virus" which
has entered the party. "Jinnah Bhakts should be driven out of the
party," he advised Rajnath.
The VHP leader said, "Earlier BJP leaders after gaining power at the
Centre had diluted their committment towards building of Ram Temple."
"After getting the post they said the issue would be resolved by
negotiations or court order," he added.
However, statement of Rajnath Singh has changed BJP stand on the issue and VHP
welcomes it, Togadia said.
"The action of BJP leaders after coming to power has derailed Hindutva
centric politics. VHP will extend its support to Rajnath Singh," he added.
