BJP, CPI demand CBI probe into lecturer's murder Wednesday, December 27, 2006 11:56 [IST]
Lucknow: Charging the Uttar
Pradesh government with 'shielding' the culprits in the Meerut lecturer Kavita Rani's murder, the BJP
and CPI today demanded a CBI inquiry into it.
In a statement issued here today state BJP spokesman H N Dixit alleged that the
police has embarked upon a massive cover up to "shield" the ministers
allegedly involved in the case.
Only a CBI inquiry can unravel the mystery, Dixit said.
The CPI also demanded a CBI probe into the matter and claimed that the victim's
family also desired the same.
Senior CPI leader Ashok Mishra has written a letter to the Chief Minister
seeking stern action against the culprits.
"The ministers' involvement has been proved by the letters recovered from
her residence," Mishra alleged.
