Shillong: An slight intensity earthquake measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale rocked Meghalaya in the wee hyours today (Dec28, 2006).

Recorded at 2:29 a.m., the epicentre of the quake was located at about 25 km from the Central Siesomological Observatory here.

There was no immediate report of any damage or casualty.
